During E3 Capcom announced that it would be bringing Resident Evil 4 to the PS2, and that it would include brand new features, enhancements and exciting surprises. Ever since rumors have been floating around, but today a few extras were already unveiled. For starters, RE4 for PS2 will support widescreen mode, but most importantly feature a completely new and exclusive weapon, the P.R.L 412, which stands for Plagas Removal Laser, has the ability to eradicate parasites from the hosts body.

Sony Computer Entertainment America announced today that its upcoming football product under development through Red Zone Interactive, The Road To Sunday, has been cancelled. It is important to note that this internal decision will not impact the other SCEA sports franchises. The NBA, NHL, MLB and World Tour Soccer franchises continue to be on track for their releases during the upcoming year. SCEA remains committed to providing a strong sports lineup as part of its first party offerings.

Take-Two announced today that the Entertainment Software Rating Board has changed the rating of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on all platforms from "Mature 17+" (M) to "Adults Only 18+" (AO) because of the so-called "hot coffee mod," an unauthorized third party modification that alters the retail version of the game.

While we are still waiting for Capcom to release
RE4 on PS2, the sequel is already in the works, according to Japanese magazine Famitsu. For the very first time in franchise history, the next game in the series won't debut on a Nintendo platform, but is so far only scheduled for PS3 and X360. While it is way too early to speculate on a release date, Capcom producer Takeuchi Jun says "We would need 3 or maybe 5 years to fully exploit the capabilities of the new generation of systems, but right now this is the project Capcom is putting the most effort into."
