Survios Launches 2124 Publishing Division, Signs Action RPG 'Romancelvania: BATchelor's Curse' - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Oct. 27, 2021 @ 1:43 p.m. PDT

Romancelvania is an action/RPG that blends the Metroidvania genre and reality dating TV shows.

Development studio Survios announced the launch of its new division 2124 Publishing, which aims to support independent game developers by partnering with and funding creative and passionate studios to bring their games to market. To kick off the launch, 2124 has revealed its very first publishing title, action RPG Romancelvania: BATchelor’s Curse.

In Romancelvania: BATchelor’s Curse players assume the role of legendary vampire, Drac (who can be played as male or female) as they slay their way through Transylvania and encounter irresistible monsters like P.S. Elle, a kinky pumpkin witch, and the Dead Pirate Robert, a swashbuckling zombie who plunders literal booty. At its core, Romancelvania is a cheeky romp, loaded with loving parody and biting satire. This genre mashup is as mercurial as its cast.

As a new division of Survios, 2124 Publishing will focus its efforts on exploring the wide range of independent developers creating games for the modern-day market. Led by some of the gaming industry’s elite, in addition to a tenured, award-winning creative and marketing team, the team will be led by Chief Product Officer TQ Jefferson, a former executive at Disney, Activision and Marvel, Senior Vice President of Partnerships and industry leader Mike Domaguing, and Vice President of Marketing Mike Medrano, former veteran of Blizzard Entertainment and PUBG Corporation.

“The launch of 2124 Publishing marks a new, long-awaited era for Survios. As a company, we pride ourselves most in offering unique opportunities to talented individuals,” said Jefferson. “With such a diverse pool of brilliant indie game developers right now, 2124 Publishing allows us to place extra effort into both seeking out and further developing quirky and amazing titles such as Romancelvania.”

In partnership with its new roster of indie developers, 2124 Publishing will offer guidance and consultation to ensure successful launches for each title. Services include:

  • Financing - 2124 Publishing will provide finishing funds and marketing support
  • Live Services - Titles will be supported through their lifecycle from QA to post-launch
  • Publishing - An award-winning Creative Services team ensures titles are each successfully launched with an unparalleled approach, targeting the right audience with the perfect message
  • Platform Relations - Utilizing Survios and 2124 Publishing’s incredible relationships with major platform holders, indie developers will receive the best promotional support from major gaming brands including PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo

“Having Romancelvania gain the attention of a successful developer like Survios and 2124 Publishing is an opportunity of a lifetime,” said Romancelvania Creative Director Bill Gardner. “We are incredibly grateful to partner with 2124 on our passion project. From our initial discussions, it was clear that Survios/2124 was exactly the team we needed to fully realize our vision for Romancelvania. Teaming up means we can greatly exceed our Kickstarter goals to create a legendary game. We cannot wait to share this special experience with you all next year. Being the first title to release under the new 2124 Publishing is certainly something we consider next level!”

Romancelvania: BATchelor’s Curse will be available for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and PC in 2022.
