'The Master Chief Collection' Extends Collaboration With Abstraction Games To Work On Accessibility Features And Improvements

Halo: The Master Chief Collection bundles Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 on a single disc, featuring remastered graphics and running at 60fps.

The Halo series comes to PC with six blockbuster games in a single integrated experience. Halo: The Master Chief Collection (MCC) will be available with Xbox Game Pass for PC and for individual sale in the Microsoft Store and on Steam. Whether you're a longtime fan or are meeting the Master Chief for the first time, Halo: The Master Chief Collection (MCC) is the definitive Halo gaming experience.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is being developed as a PC-native experience with an array of new features tailor-made for PC. Refined mouse and keyboard controls, remappable key bindings, text chat, support for multiple aspect ratios, customizable frame rate and FOV (to the extent feasible within each title), updated UI, and a new progression system are just some of the additions being designed for PC gamers.

The great Halo journey begins with Halo: Reach — the fictional beginnings of the Master Chief's saga — with the remaining titles following in chronological order of the story: Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (Campaign), and Halo 4.

To ensure Halo: The Master Chief Collection delivers the best native PC experience possible, 343 Industries is inviting the community to sign up and participate in the Halo Insider Program, where fans can play and provide feedback on work-in-progress content within MCC before public release.

Each game in the collection will be released individually and will evolve and grow over time with community input.

Following its partnership working on Halo: The Master Chief Collection in 2021, Abstraction announced that the collaboration has been extended for the whole of 2022.

Abstraction will continue working on inviting an even wider audience to The Master Chief Collection by improving the game's accessibility features throughout the coming year.

"Thanks to our great collaboration last year, Abstraction will continue our work on more accessibility features,” said Abstraction producer Lisa Burgers. “The covered features aim to improve the experience of not only people with disabilities but also add quality of life improvements for a wider, general, audience. Visual, auditory, motor, and gameplay related accessibility features are all being taken into consideration and investigated to see how we can enhance Halo without changing its identity or giving unfair advantages in multiplayer. The team is taking great care of this project, as it is close to our hearts, and we are thrilled to work again with 343 Industries."

Following the Master Chief’s iconic journey, Halo: Master Chief Collection includes six games built for PC, collected into a single integrated experience that will delight long-time Halo fans as well as those meeting John 117 for the first time. During its time working on Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Abstraction has worked hard to make this definitive gaming experience even more inclusive with a suite of accessibility features, including extended localization for community-requested languages, color blindness support for the three types of color blindness (protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia) and subtitle customization.

“It’s a great honor for us to work on a world-renowned and beloved series like Halo,” said Abstraction COO Dominique Morel. “The games in The Master Chief Collection mean as much to us as they do to the fans that play them, so we’re delighted that Abstraction will continue to collaborate with 343 Industries and can’t wait to continue enhancing the experience for all gamers”.
