RedOctane Games, the studio founded last year by music rhythm gaming veterans, hardware innovators and leading creators from the global rhythm gaming community, announced Stage Tour an all-new rhythm music title now in active development.
Delivering a shot of nostalgia to honor the legacy of music games, Stage Tour has been designed to respect the past, while building an evolving experience for the future, designed for a modern gaming audience.
Stage Tour is poised to rekindle the flame of plastic-instrument rhythm gaming with numerous new features and gamemodes, dozens of bandmates and instruments to fit your unique style, a deep competitive spine, and an extensive roadmap of seasonal content and live events.
Stage Tour is not just a game; it’s a long-term platform created in conjunction with the community. A home for music loving gamers, Stage Tour features new instruments, controller and keyboard compatibility and deep gameplay mechanics, with note charts optimized depending on the type of instrument or controller used.
Following the classic gaming recipe of easy to play, hard to master, Stage Tour is highly accessible for newcomers, while delivering an ever-evolving challenge for experienced gamers.
Stage Tour is built to bring people together through the power of music, whether players are performing solo, rocking out with friends online, or turning their living room into a virtual concert experience. Inspired by social energy, competition, and unforgettable moments that made rhythm games a worldwide phenomenon, Stage Tour aims to deliver an experience that is accessible, exciting, and rewarding for players of all skill levels.
Players can jump in with guitar, drums, vocals, keyboard, or a standard controller, making it easy for first-time players to join in while giving longtime rhythm game fans the dedicated instrument experience they love.
The new trailer also teased Stage Tour's flagship Campaign Mode, a fresh progression-driven take on the rhythm genre inspired by modern roguelites. Each campaign run will have different setlists, challenges, gameplay modifiers, and branching paths. Picking the right powers and items for your loadout is the key to a successful tour. This mode is built around giving players unique and endlessly replayable experiences.
Alongside Campaign Mode, players will also be able to jump instantly into songs through Quickplay, sharpen their skills with Practice Mode, and test their mastery in Judgements Mode, built for players chasing perfection.
A new era starts here!
The team at RedOctane still has a whole host of things left to show the world, from setlist reveals, to spotlights on the single-player Tour mode, and a few surprises that they’re keeping close to their chests until the big day.
As the curtain is pulled back to reveal more, the team has been looking forward to the future, and what happens after the game is released into the wild. It seems that launch is just the beginning of this magical journey back into the land of rock and roll rhythm gaming!
First up, let’s focus on the game’s updates, and how it will grow. At launch, there will be 90+ songs to get stuck into, multiple ways to play, plus extensive unlockable bandmates and instruments. Current plans are to introduce FOUR new major content expansions to the title every year, embellishing the base game with new music, characters, experiences and customization options, such as outfits and in-game experiences. As with the rhythm games of old, song packs and individual titles will be available separately. Extra tracks will remain available for purchase throughout their respective licensing periods, which are typically 10 years, and there’s no plan to release time-limited content where songs appear and disappear before you’ve had a chance to reach for your wallet - players will also be able to build their music libraries at their own pace.
In addition to the extensive evolution and update information shared in the blog post, the RedOctane team has given an update on hardware and shipping, detailing everything you need to know about getting the controllers into your hands so you can start your gaming musical career. The estimated shipping window for pre-orders is currently December 1st to December 10th. This is the date that orders will leave the warehouse, not necessarily the date that the kit will arrive, so keen Stage Tour rockstars will need to keep an eye on their emails for more detailed information about delivery. Drum kits and band bundles have been EXTREMELY popular (as you can imagine) so new pre-orders for these will be shipped between December 11th to December 31st. The team will be working tirelessly behind the scenes to get the controllers into everyone’s hands as soon as they can, and more hardware is on the way!
The team is currently exploring opportunities to expand retail availability into regions they don't currently ship to directly through our website, including Brazil and other parts of South America - updates will be announced as soon as there is news.
the next setlist reveal will be on November 4th.
Future Content Plans, Hardware Pre-Orders & Shipping
Hey Rockstars 🤘
We're now less than a month and a half away from the launch of Stage Tour and the excitement continues to build!
The response from the community has been incredible, and we want to thank everyone who has supported us, shared feedback, spread the word, and pre-ordered the game and official new hardware.
There's still plenty more to come between now and launch, including additional setlist reveals, a closer look at our single-player Tour mode, and a few surprises we're not quite ready to share.
As we continue revealing more about Stage Tour and the different ways to play, we've also been seeing more questions about what comes next.
What will future content look like?
How will the game evolve?
What can players expect after launch?Today, we want to share a little more about our plans for the future of Stage Tour, along with an update on game + hardware pre-orders.

Building on Stage Tour: Future Content
Stage Tour is being built as an experience that continues to grow long after launch.
Our current plan is to introduce four major content expansions, or events, each year, bringing new music, experiences, and customization options to the game.
Here is an example of what expansion events could look like:
- Over a dozen new songs themed around the expansion
- Potential new stage venues
- New characters, outfits, and/or in-game instruments
Between major expansion events, we also plan to release additional song packs, with individual songs available to purchase separately. We'll share more details after launch.
We want players to have the freedom to build their music libraries at their own pace, with fair and reasonable pricing across both expansions and individual song releases.
Most importantly, songs and expansions will remain available for purchase throughout their respective licensing periods, which are typically 10 years.
We're not planning limited-time purchase windows where songs or events are available for a few weeks and then gone. Our goal is to build an expanding catalog of music and content that players can explore and purchase whenever they're ready.
Whether you're joining us on day one or picking up Stage Tour further down the road, we want you all to have access to the same growing library of content.
New Features and Free Updates
Another question we've seen from the community is how Stage Tour will evolve over time, and whether new gameplay features will be tied to paid content.
Our approach is simple: new gameplay features and ways to play will be delivered through free updates.
While future expansions and song packs will introduce additional paid content, we don't intend to lock new gameplay features behind those purchases.
If a new feature arrives alongside a major content event, that feature will be available to all players.
Stage Tour has been in development for approximately 18 months, and we're incredibly proud of what the team has accomplished in that time.
With 90+ songs at launch, multiple ways to play, extensive unlockable bandmates and instruments, along with support for a wide range of controllers, we're building an ambitious foundation for the future.
And we're really just getting started...
We already have ideas and features we're exploring for future updates, and we know that once the game is in players' hands, community feedback will play an important role in shaping what comes next, it always has.
Our goal is to keep improving, expanding, and evolving Stage Tour alongside the people playing it.
Exploring What's Next for Rhythm Gaming
We've also seen questions about whether RedOctane Games might explore other rhythm gaming experiences in the future, including dance, DJ, VR, and other music-driven concepts.
The short answer? We're always exploring new ideas.
Creativity and experimentation are part of our DNA. We're constantly discussing and prototyping ideas across both games and hardware, looking at how music and interactive entertainment can continue to evolve.
While we're excited about those possibilities, our focus right now is firmly on Stage Tour and building a strong foundation for its future.
There's a lot we want to accomplish, and we're looking forward to building that future together with the community.
Hardware Pre-Orders & Shipping Updates
The response to Stage Tour game + hardware pre-orders has exceeded our expectations, and we're incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm and support.
As we get closer to launch, we want to share some important updates on hardware availability, estimated shipping and delivery timelines, and what to expect as we begin preparing pre-orders for fulfillment. We'll also cover a few things you can do now to make sure everything is ready when it's time for your order to ship.
Understanding Shipping & Delivery Times
Our initial estimated shipping window is December 1–10. This means orders within that allocation are expected to ship during this period, not necessarily arrive by December 10.
Once your order ships, delivery typically takes an additional 2–10 business days, depending on your location and its proximity to the warehouse fulfilling your order.
We want to make sure everyone understands the difference between estimated shipping dates and delivery dates as we get closer to launch. And of course, we'll be doing everything we can to ensure all pre-orders ship within their estimated windows.
Pre-Order Processing
As we work through a high volume of pre-orders, some orders may enter processing early as part of our preparations for fulfillment. This doesn't necessarily mean your order is ready to ship, and your current estimated shipping window still applies.
We'll be fulfilling pre-orders in the order they were received.
You'll receive a shipping confirmation with tracking information once your order has been officially dispatched.
Drum Kits and Band Bundles
Demand for our Drum Kits and bundles that include drums has now filled our initial launch shipping allocation of December 1–10.
As a result, new pre-orders for these products will be assigned to the next estimated shipping window of December 11–31.
As each shipping allocation fills, the estimated shipping window for new orders will move to the next available period.
More Hardware Is on the Way
We're continuing to work closely with our manufacturing and logistics partners to meet demand and get Stage Tour hardware into players' hands as quickly as possible.
There are no manufacturing issues driving these changes. The updated shipping window is a result of the incredible demand for our hardware, particularly Drum Kits and bundles that include drums, and how we're allocating incoming inventory across multiple shipments.
Pre-Orders Remain Open
Pre-orders for Drum Kits and Band Bundles remain open.
Customers can continue placing orders, with the latest estimated shipping window clearly displayed on the relevant product pages and during checkout.
Game + Guitar Bundles
Our Game + Guitar Bundles are still available within our initial estimated shipping window of December 1–10.
You can pre-order through stagetour.com and participating retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, and Target in the United States, along with retail partners in other territories.
We're also exploring opportunities to expand retail availability into regions we don't currently ship to directly through our website, including Brazil and other parts of South America. While we don't have any confirmed retail partners or timelines to share just yet, we know there's strong interest from players in these regions, and we'll share updates as soon as we have more information.
PS5 Hardware-Only Bundles (For Digital PS5 Owners)
For players with a PS5 console that doesn't have a disc drive, we offer PS5 hardware-only bundle options. These bundles include the hardware without a physical game disc, allowing you to purchase Stage Tour digitally through the PlayStation Store.
If you've already pre-ordered a PS5 Game + Hardware Bundle, please note that it includes a physical game disc. You can keep your existing order and purchase the digital game separately, or cancel and place a new order for a PS5 hardware-only bundle.
Please note that canceling and reordering may affect your estimated shipping window, as new orders are subject to availability at the time of purchase.
Nintendo Switch 2 Drum Kit Update
Our Drum Kits will not be available for Nintendo Switch 2 at launch. We're continuing to work toward making Nintendo Switch 2-compatible Drum Kits available in the future.
We don't have a confirmed availability date to share just yet, but we'll provide an update as soon as we have more information.
Digital Pre-Orders
Digital pre-orders are available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
If you're planning to play with an existing compatible instrument, gamepad, or gaming keyboard, you can jump into Stage Tour without purchasing new hardware.
For more information on supported instruments and controllers, visit our hardware compatibility page.
Managing Your Pre-Order
With planning for our upcoming shipping and fulfillment operations underway, now is a great time to double-check your pre-order details and make sure your shipping address is accurate and up to date.
You can manage your hardware pre-order at https://stgame.io/managepreorders using your Purple Dot pre-order number (PD#) and the email address associated with your order.
From there, you can verify or update your shipping address and cancel your order if needed.
We recommend reviewing your shipping details ahead of your estimated shipping window to help avoid any potential delivery issues.
For additional help with your order, please contact our support team through support@stagetour.com. We're happy to assist with any questions or issues.
Thank You for Being Part of Our Road to Launch
We're incredibly excited about what's ahead.
From the music and gameplay we're bringing to launch, to the new content, features, and experiences we're planning for the future, our vision for Stage Tour extends well beyond December 10.
We also recognize how important clear communication is, especially as we work through the demand for hardware pre-orders. We'll continue sharing updates as we get closer to launch.
To everyone who has supported us, provided feedback, shared our announcements, or placed a pre-order: thank you.
We can't wait for you to play Stage Tour.
- The RedOctane Games Team
No rock show is complete without the gear to back it up, and Stage Tour is arriving with a purpose-built hardware lineup led by an official guitar controller created in partnership with Kramer guitars, part of the Gibson family of brands. For drummers, Stage Tour will launch alongside an official modular drum kit featuring expandable attachments that allow players to build out their setup over time, while vocalists will be able to jump in using both wired and wireless microphone options.
The multi-year partnership between Gibson and RedOctane Games goes far beyond hardware. Iconic instruments from Gibson, Epiphone, and Kramer will be brought to life within Stage Tour, giving players the chance to perform with some of the most legendary guitars in rock history. The experience is further elevated by an officially inspired in-game hub modeled after the world-renowned Gibson Garage Nashville flagship store—an immersive destination in the heart of Music City, USA, designed as a vibrant gathering place where music, creativity, and the energy of live performance come together.
Building on that vision, Stage Tour has been designed to be more than a collection of songs. Whether playing on smaller stages or in massive arenas, players will be able to build and customize their band from a diverse roster of bandmates with distinct personalities, styles, and identities, allowing every band to feel uniquely their own.
Key Features:
- BUILD YOUR BAND: Chase the top score by unlocking unique bandmates, each with their own look, attitude, and stage presence. Choose from multiple variants to match your band’s personality, assign members to Lead, Groove, Drums, or Vocals.
- PICK YOUR STYLE: Customize your lineup with official Gibson guitar and bass designs. As you play, your band evolves with you. Mix and match characters to create a lineup that feels uniquely yours, whether rocking solo or jamming with up to four players.
- OWN THE STAGE: Push your skills, master every note, and conquer every challenge. Rise through the ranks to unlock legendary rewards, exclusive content, and permanent bragging rights.
- Stage Tour is built with the community at its core, helping shape its future. Expect detailed feature reveals and deeper breakdowns in the months ahead.
Stage Tour is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox SerieS X|S and PC (Steam) on December 10, 2026.
