The year is 2027. The world is on the edge of chaos. Battlefield 6 introduces a host of new features, including the all-new Kinesthetic Combat System, which brings enhancements to movement and gunplay. This gives players an unprecedented level of mobility, offering new tactical options such as Drag and Revive to pull teammates out of danger and back from the brink, and mounting weapons on walls to reduce recoil.
The iconic class system returns better than ever, with Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer, empowering players to define their role on the battlefield. The four roles have been enhanced, designed to empower players to push their team towards victory, each with class-specific gadgets, signature weapons and dedicated training. Destruction also returns, but enhanced to offer an unparalleled level of freedom, letting players transform the combat zone, to create new paths, flank enemies and dominate the battle.

Battlefield Studios revealed a detailed roadmap for Battlefield 6 and REDSEC, providing a blockbuster overview into what’s in store for players throughout the remainder of 2026, including sneak peeks at the massive maps set to arrive in the game, plus the return of Naval Warfare and a host of priority features being added this year.
Season 3 kicks off in May with a reimagining of a classic Battlefield 4 map, now called Railway to Golmud, which will be the biggest map in Battlefield 6 yet. Set within Tajikistan after the events of the campaign, this fan favorite has been optimized to match Battlefield 6’s visual fidelity and gameplay. Then later in the season another legendary map arrives, with an updated reimagining of Battlefield 3’s Grand Bazaar, called Cairo Bazaar.
Season 3 also sees the debut of REDSEC’s Ranked Play experience, which will launch in Battle Royale Quads, setting the stage for a thrilling competitive experience that will evolve in future seasons based on feedback from the community.
Later this summer Season 4 launches, with the release of Naval Warfare in both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. Tsuru Reef, a new naval-focused map, which will be the biggest warground yet, with gigantic air and sea spaces, new naval-based vehicles, aircraft carriers with operational flight decks, plus a dynamic wave system that will heighten the intensity of ocean combat. This season, Battlefield will also return to Wake Island, one of most celebrated maps in the series’ history.
Season 5 closes out the year, taking players to a location new to the Battlefield franchise, rewarding players with the special holiday jackpot of three maps dropping within a single season.
Throughout the year, the team at Battlefield Studios will continue to work on a host of quality of life updates and combat improvements, working closely with the community to continually enhance the experience. Upcoming priority features coming this year include leaderboards, a spectator mode, the release of proximity chat, and an eagerly anticipated Server Browser with Persistent Servers to give players even more options to host and play preferred experiences.
The Open and Elite competitive series, the pinnacle of competition in Battlefield, will arrive this year following our work with players in evolving the Ranked Play experience. This series will showcase the absolute best competitive play that Battlefield has to offer on the global stage.
Battlefield 6 also launches with an all-new and improved iteration of Portal – the creative toolset that lets you redraw the lines of war. Portal is more powerful and streamlined than ever before, giving players brand new tools to create completely unique content called Community Experiences. Ambitious post-launch support will continue to add more modes, maps, weapons, and other features to the game on a consistent basis.
Battlefield 6 launches with a robust package of multiplayer modes and maps, taking the fight around the world from Egypt, to Gibraltar and the streets of New York. Each map features multiple combat zones, hand-crafted and tailored to suit specific modes, ensuring each fight is designed to compliment the player experience and provide a variety of play options. Fan favorite multiplayer modes return in Battlefield 6, with classic staples making an appearance, including Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush. Players will also experience a host of fast-paced and intense first-person shooter staples, including Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination and King of the Hill. While a brand new mode called Escalation sees two teams fight to capture strategic control points.
