On 20 February 2026, Nacon announced that the situation of its majority shareholder, Bigben Interactive, which, following an unexpected and late refusal by its banking pool, was unable to make the partial repayment of its bond loan to its bondholders, was significantly affecting its own operations.
On 2 March 2026, at the NACON's request, the Lille Métropole Commercial Court ordered the opening of judicial reorganisation proceedings. The aim of these proceedings is to enable the Company to identify, under the best possible conditions, solutions to ensure the sustainability of its business, renegotiate its debt with its creditors and protect its employees within a stable environment.
NACON announced that four of its subsidiaries, namely the video game development studios Spiders, Kylotonn, Cyanide, and the motion capture company Nacon Tech, filed for insolvency with the Lille Métropole Commercial Court and requested the opening of judicial reorganisation proceedings in their favour.
However it would now seem that Spiders (founded in 2008 and acquired by BigBen in 2019) has not found a solution and is shutting down.
Hello everyone,
First off, we apologise for the silence over the past month - it's been a while.
We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC (The Greedfall: The Dying World DLC) will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply.
