'Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core' Available Through Steam Early Access - Trailer

Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core is a 1-4 player co-op FPS action roguelite featuring sci-fi dwarves, alien horrors and procedurally-generated caves.

Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core finds miners in their deadliest dive yet, as 1-4 players band together, diving deep into Hoxxes IV in this cooperative FPS roguelite adventure. Shortly after the discovery of a new material known as Expenite, dig sites in the planet’s core have mysteriously gone offline. To fix the issue, Mission Control is sending a team of battle-hardened dwarven Reclaimers into the depths of Hoxxes IV to bring these sites online, fight back against the monstrous Core Spawn, and reestablish control of operations.

For those brave enough to take on this mission, players can take on four of Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core’s brand-new classes, with more arriving in the future. The Falconeer allows the chance to fight on two fronts at once, the Slicer is an expert in delivering offensive assault, the Spotter can identify the best targets for attack, and the Guardian works to keep players safe from the threat of the Core Spawn.

Each run finds miners equipped with their Reclaimer’s Gauntlet to start, before their deadly descent into Hoxxes IV to battle across procedurally-generated stages. Missions will see teams blasting through rock and stone, featuring the franchise’s staple of fully destructible environments, in an attempt to reach the Core and reclaim the dig site. Within the darkness, salvage caches can be uncovered to expand load-outs with upgrades, and Expenite can be harvested and deposited in the trusty Processor Drone to create powerful temporary upgrades.

Every stage deeper into the planet will increase in difficulty, as dwarves complete optional mission tasks to earn extra Expenite for upgrades and work together to bring dig sites back online. Between stages, teams can take a breather within their ship, the RV-09 “Ramrod”, where research to permanently unlock new upgrades can increase the chances of survival. These enhancements can be carried over to the next dive, ensuring meaningful roguelite progression keeps even the weakest of dwarves at the top of their game.

Ghost Ship Games and Coffee Stain Publishing have launched Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core into Steam Early Access (USD 29.99 / EUR 29.99 / GBP 24.99), allowing miners can drill into the core of Hoxxes IV either solo or as a group, exploring a darker side of the planet and its more hostile citizens.

InPlayers ready to fight to the centre of Hoxxes IV can look forward to a variety of features:

  • Five New Classes – Players can move through the stages as part of an elite security team, taking on one of five Reclaimer class types – the Guardian, Spotter, Falconer, Slicer, and Retcon – each with their own specialised capabilities.
  • Race Against The Clock – Reclaimers must work quickly to breach and secure each mine, racing against the clock while balancing mission requirements. Those looking for an extra fast-paced challenge can do so through the Gauntlet missions, which introduce a difficulty beyond anything before seen in the Deep Rock Galactic franchise.
  • Sharing The Wealth – During a run, Reclaimers will have the opportunity to upgrade their tools, weapons and abilities, some of which are pulled from a shared draw of upgrades. Other times, dwarves will need to vote on Risk Vectors – balancing upgrades with increased difficulty. Trusty robot assistant, Ellis, will also be on hand to process Expenite into valuable upgrades.
  • Rock Solid Progression – Beyond runs, Reclaimers can drive in-game progression by completing Intel tasks to unlock further Clearance Levels in the Mission Terminal. Improvements (both aesthetic and tactical) can be earned through the Enhancements, Pickaxe, and Loadout terminals, located aboard the Ramrod.
  • Fresh And Familiar Faces – As some of the deepest dig sites on Hoxxes IV, creatures new and familiar lurk in the deep, increasing the threat level of each run. As part of the recently discovered fauna, players can expect to encounter Rafkan, Shatterclaw and Core Spawn hordes spawning from the riftgate – a portal found deep within each mining site.
  • Workouts For Beer – Dwarven security professionals have the RV-09 Ramrod to decompress in between dives – a space-faring rig controlled by the AI OMEGA. But before cracking open a beer, miners must enter OMEGA’s Bar and Fitness to tackle calorie-burning challenges to earn their downtime.

“Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core has been a passion project for the team, and we’re glad to see that enthusiasm shared throughout the Deep Rock Galactic community,” comments Mikkel Martin Pedersen, Co-Founder of Ghost Ship Games and Game Director of Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core. “We’re giving miners a brand new way to interact with Hoxxes IV, and we can’t wait for them to see the Company in a completely new light.”

Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core is in development for PC, with a full v1.0 launch in 2027/2028.
