The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a thrilling arena fighter from the team at CyberConnect2 that builds upon the original Hinokami Chronicles, whose cumulative physical game shipments and digital copies sold has exceeded 4 million units worldwide.

The sequel’s Story Mode will pick up where the previous entry left off, allowing fans to once again put themselves in the well-traveled shoes of Tanjiro Kamado. This time, fans will be able to relive many of the exciting moments from “Entertainment District Arc,” “Swordsmith Village Arc,” and “Hashira Training Arc.”

The VS Mode playable roster is larger than ever, with over 40 playable characters to choose from! That includes Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji, two Hashira who bravely fought against two Upper Rank demons of the Twelve Kizuki. 

SEGA announced Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + "Infinity Castle" Character Pass will be launching for Nintendo Switch 2 on October 29, 2026! 

This new release will feature key improvements over the original Nintendo Switch version, including the implementation of a 60FPS framerate and higher-quality visuals. Plus, along with the standard 2-player local and online VS Mode, the game will have cross-gen support between Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 users, allowing even more players to join the fray!

In addition, the VS Mode roster will feature all 54 characters that have been released for the game, including those in the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” Character Pass! This bundle added the following seven characters to the base roster:

• Tanjiro Kamado (Infinity Castle)

• Zenitsu Agatsuma (Infinity Castle)

• Giyu Tomioka (Infinity Castle)

• Shinobu Kocho (Infinity Castle)

• Doma

• Akaza (Infinity Castle)

• Kaigaku

The physical edition, which includes the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” Character Pass, will be available at launch starting at $59.99 MSRP. More details will be shared in the coming months, so please stay tuned. 

Those who own Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 either digitally or physically on Nintendo Switch will be able to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 version at no additional cost through a free upgrade pass. Please note the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” Character Pass is not included as part of the upgrade pass – users will need to purchase the Character Pass separately through Nintendo eShop.
