'EVE Vanguard' Paid Alpha Access Coming In November, Steam Early Access Scheduled For Q3 2027 - Trailer

EVE Vanguard is an immersive online sandbox FPS set in the epic sci-fi universe of EVE Online, 21,000 years in the far future.

EVE Vanguard is an extraction-adventure FPS set on the ruthless planets of New Eden. Raid crash sites, assault forward bases and seize exotic tech before colossal Nemesis Drones hunt you down. Every mission is a race against time. Every extraction shapes a larger war. This is only the beginning.

EVE Vanguard is set on the merciless planets of New Eden. Players deploy from space as technologically immortal Warclones – whose consciousnesses are stored within neural implants and transferred between expendable bodies – onto hostile surfaces to raid crash sites, assault enemy structures, and secure advanced technology before extraction.

Between deployments, Warclones return to the Warbarge, a mobile command space where they craft and procure equipment before preparing their loadout for the next incursion. Weapons are modular and can be reconfigured with multiple fire modes and damage types via chipsets, allowing players to constantly adapt and evolve their tactics.

With intense PvPvE combat, each run places players into direct competition with escalating planetary defenses and rival Warclones, pushing them to emerge upgraded, improved, and ready to fight again. Roaming drones guard sites containing crucial resources, while higher-value rewards must be hacked into or forced open under pressure.

Every action carries risk: pushing deeper into sites or remaining active for too long draws a response. Alarms escalate, and hostile reinforcements are deployed to secure the area, tightening control. The longer players remain, the more forceful and coordinated that response becomes, culminating in chaingun-armed Oppressors descending from the sky to eliminate any living threat that remains.

Fenris Creations announced that EVE Vanguard, the in-development extraction-adventure FPS connected to the iconic sci-fi MMO EVE Online, will open live 24/7 paid alpha access exclusively through the EVE Launcher on PC from November 10, 2026.

Building on July’s Operation Avalon playtest and community feedback, November’s release introduces three new maps, an improved story-driven new-player journey and expanded weapon progression. Players will also be able to enlist with New Eden’s empires and, as alpha development continues, contribute to Factional Warfare campaigns unfolding in EVE Online. Together, these additions build on the extraction-adventure gameplay at the heart of the current experience, supporting the long-term vision of evolving EVE Vanguard into a sci-fi MMOFPS through deeper player-driven systems and connections across New Eden.

November’s alpha gives players ongoing access to build their Warclone’s arsenal, explore the game’s progression systems, and take an active role in helping shape what comes next. Moving into sustained live operations via the EVE Launcher allows the Fenris London team to continue to refine and expand the experience alongside players, addressing issues before welcoming a wider audience through Steam Early Access.

“During Operation Avalon, players told us what they enjoyed, what frustrated them and what made them want to go back for another deployment. That feedback is shaping November’s release, from how we introduce new players to what they can work towards as they build their arsenal,” said Scott Davis, Game Director for EVE Vanguard. “With deeper progression and more reasons to return, we’re ready to move beyond short playtests. Going live 24/7 in alpha through the EVE Launcher lets players settle in and find their own ways to play over weeks and months. Their experiences will help us improve and expand Vanguard ahead of Steam Early Access next year. That step will take the game into beta, where we’ll continue our collaboration with players as we welcome a broader audience.”

In EVE Vanguard, players deploy as technologically immortal Warclones onto New Eden’s hostile planets to raid enemy sites, recover valuable technology, and decide how much to risk before extracting. Between deployments, players return to their Warbarge to craft equipment and prepare their loadout for the next incursion.

November’s alpha expands that experience with:

  • A new player journey: A refreshed tutorial and a new series of missions with narrative briefings introduce players to life as a Warclone. A new Jobs Board offers short missions to earn rewards and resources.
  • Three new maps alongside ‘Lost Convoy’: ‘High Castle’ introduces high-security deployments with no player-versus-player damage. ‘Vorago’ takes players into a low-security chasm where both hostile forces and rival Warclones pose a threat. ‘The Vault’ pits three squads of three against one another in a competitive PvP labyrinth whose layout changes between deployments. Squads fight to be the only team to extract with rare Weapon Cores used to manufacture high-tier weapons.
  • Expanded weapon progression: Using a weapon family earns Weapon Telemetry, opening access to more powerful variants and new loadout choices. The Gallente BR-60 Battle Rifle also joins the arsenal.
  • A new Vanguard suit, improved movement, and overhauled UI: Warclones deploy in a newly crafted suit, with vaulting and mantling across medium and high cover. Refreshed interfaces improve squad formation, fitting, deployment, and post-battle reports.
  • A greater role in EVE Online ’s wars: Players can enlist with one of New Eden’s four empires and complete jobs to further their Warclone’s progression. As this system evolves, completed missions and expeditions will also generate War Effort for their chosen empire’s Factional Warfare campaigns in EVE Online, expanding the connection between ground operations and the wider interstellar conflict.

The alpha will also bring improvements to aiming, enemy behavior, healing, and grenades. Further feature details will be shared in the coming weeks. Full details on pricing, access options and how to purchase will be announced closer to the 10 November release.

Fenris Creations also confirmed that EVE Vanguard’s Steam Early Access launch is now planned for Q3 2027, when the game will enter beta. Periodic, time-limited playtests on Steam are planned ahead of Early Access, with dates to be announced.

Currently in early development, players can access EVE Vanguard and deploy to the battleground directly from the EVE launcher on PC.
