'Digital Bros' Manage Online Services For 'Horizons'

Artifact Entertainment has signed an exclusive agreement with Digital Bros, a digital entertainment group from Milan, Italy, to acquire the European online hosting rights for Horizons: Empire of Istaria, the next-generation 3D online epic adventure; the most anticipated online game among European players. Scheduled for North American release in Fall 2003, Horizons will also be distributed by Atari in Europe.

Ubi Soft Entertainment has announced the four fan-favorite maps from the original Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon that will be included in the upcoming campaign disk Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder. Fans of the original title voted for these maps and the results are now revealed being, the Embassy, Battlefield, Castle and Wilderness maps. Gamers who purchase the campaign disk will have future access to exclusive downloadable content featuring new missions and maps from Ghost Recon: Island Thunder (PC) and popular maps from Ghost Recon: Desert Siege (PC). Day of Defeat is a World War II multiplayer first-person action game that pits players in Axis vs. Allies battles in Western Europe at the height of the war in 1944. Players enlist as snipers, infantrymen, machine gunners, riflemen and sergeants, and then hit the frontlines running using authentic weaponry. The game, which initially debuted as a MOD, features multiple modes of play, a total of 15 multiplayer maps of action -- including 10 new maps, all new character models, hundreds of new animations, increased textures and all new particle effects system.

Volition has issued a new patch for Red Faction II, upgrading the English edition of their recent sci-fi first-person shooter to v1.01. This patch tweaks the Team Arena "Best Of" feature, reduces CPU usage when minimized, and allows the English version to run on German and French operating systems. Capcom has updated the PN03, in development by its internal studio, Production Studio 4, Japanese website. P.N. 03, directed by Shinji Mikami, is described as an action game starring a female soldier named Vanessa Z. Schneider. She's a mercenary armed with a high-powered laser--and she's a robot killer. Robots at a colonial settlement have gone wild on a nearby planet, and it's up to Vanessa--whose parents were killed by the same system overrunning the settlement--to stop them. Not much is known about the game's action, but it is described as containing dodging capabilities and transforming mechs. The game is due to hit Japan in spring of 2003.
