The
March issue of PSM reveals that Sony is working on a new firmware update for the PSP which will give user access to Sony Mail. The built-in e-mail program will use the unique ID number assigned to each PSP at manufacture to eliminate a potentially confusing server setup. The program won't require users to access a web site, but will let them choose a unique user name to associate with their PSP's ID. The PSM article also reveals that somewhere down the road Sony plans to release a GPS peripheral as well as a suite of UMD map packs.

Monster Hunter 2 improvements will include more weapons, a greater focus on grouping, and a much larger environment, with a dynamic day/night cycle, including season changing. This will have an effect on overall gameplay, as certain animals will only be accessible during specific times of the day. Owners of Monster Hunter 2 will also be able to connect with its little PSP brother, Monster Hunter Portable.

In October 2005 Digital Illusions signed an agreement to license the rights to Electronic Arts' studio in the UK to develop the Xbox and PS2 versions of its untitled game with release in 2006/ 2007. Due to falling sales for games to both consoles EA and Digital Illusions have decided to cancel the development of the product for these two platforms.
