Ubisoft today announced the launch of the mod section within the official Far Cry community site hosted by Ubi.com. Far Cry (PC, Rated-M, $39.99 MSRP) features the intuitive Sandbox Editor, a powerful tool that allows users to create new Far Cry levels and mods. The CryENGINE technology which the game and editor are based on allows for the easiest, most user-friendly map-editing tools ever created.

Today game industry veteran Bill Gardner revealed the formation of his new publishing and distribution company, O-3 Entertainment. The company intends to bring high caliber independently developed games to a variety of gaming platforms, including PC, Playstation 2, Xbox, GameCube and WiFi/mobile through a unique game publishing model.

Wargaming.net releases new planet for its online strategy game Massive Assault Network. The planet's name is Crateus - it features a giant crater tightly packed with countries. In the center of the crater there is always-neutral high-economy country, and its conquest will be the main objective for both rivaling sides in World Wars.
