Steel Battalion is a battle-mech simulator that lets you seat inside the cockpit of a mechanized VT (Vertical Tank) and enter into futuristic military warfare, where you pilot 20 different mechs in a multinational task force operation in an effort to overthrow the government.

Star Sonata 2 improves upon the original with 3d graphics, a greatly improved user interface, RTS-like controls for your ships, drones, and bases, inter-dimensional invasions that the players must cooperatively fight, expanded tech levels, and an amazing new musical score.

Another weekend has passed, and so did another PAX Prime, However, we spent most of our time doing errands, watching Green  Lantern cartoon (starring Nathan Fillion as the voice of Hal Jordan), and of course some APB Reloaded as well as Deus Ex.

Next weekend is Labor Day, so we're having the in-laws over, and then the weekend after that we're going on a little trip to New York, sight-seeing, visiting some friends, going to the US Open tennis finale, that sort of stuff. Should be fun, especially now that Hurricane Irene has left the building.

Starhawk will provide fast paced 3rd person shooter action set in the lawless frontier of space allowing players to instantly alter the battlefield by calling down offensive and defensive structures in real-time from an orbiting drop ship, all while blasting away at enemies in the middle of huge single-player or multi-player firefights.

UFO 2: Extraterrestrials is a futuristic real-time/turn-based strategy blend set on the fictional planet of Esperanza. Prequel to 2007's UFO: Extraterrestrials, the game is a throwback to titles of yesteryear like Xcom:UFO Defence, the Fallout series, the Civilization series, and Heroes of Might & Magic.

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record sees photojournalist and original hero of Dead Rising’s Willamette incident, Frank West take center stage as players experience a re-imagining of the Fortune City outbreak. Forget what you know about Dead Rising 2, ”Frank West is back in the game!”

On Friday, we saw The Change-Up, and I can't figure out why it got somewhat of a bad rap when it came out. Granted, it wasn't on our must-see ASAP list, and the only reason we watched it was because we had free tickets for an older movie, but it was quite entertaining. There were some cheap laughs and funny situations. The meaning of life was not imparted, and the outcome was predictable, but the journey was laugh-out-loud satisfying.

No other movies on our radar at the moment, but later this week, we'll go to an advance screening of Warrior, and then we're looking forward to Real Steel.
