'Prey' No Longer Cancelled?

by Rainier on April 5, 2005 @ 11:22 a.m. PDT | Filed under News

CNN's Game Over column brings us quite a surprise in its forward look at E3 titles, as they have received information about a possibility of 3D Realms' long-cancelled Prey getting re-announced at the world's biggest gaming event in LA. "The show's biggest surprise, though, will likely be the revelation of Prey. The game, originally about a Native American who fights several nefarious alien races, was thought to be cancelled, but quietly restarted a few years ago. The new version will use the Doom 3 graphics engine and is said to be a visually striking title. There's no word on whether the story has changed. 3D Realms originally worked on Prey, but word is they have handed development to a third party and are overseeing work on the game." We, of course, will be on top of things with our in-depth E3 coverage!
