Empire Interactive plc, a leading AIM listed computer games developer and publisher, announces that it has signed a distribution deal with leading Japanese games company, SEGA for the release of Warrior Kings: Battles and Ghost Master in Japan. Under the terms of the agreement, SEGA will distribute the titles on the PC Platform.

Activision is unleashing a one-man cybernetic wrecking crew with the announcement of TRINITY, a new first person action game for the PC and Xbox. Set in the year 2013, TRINITY transports players into a dark alternate future where a deadly plague threatens to destroy the city of New Orleans. As the mysterious "Nightstalker," a bio-technically enhanced one-man vigilante force, players will cut a swath of destruction through the Big Easy as they attempt to uncover the source of the deadly virus, and save the city from impending disaster. The PC version of the game is being created by Gray Matter Studios the development team behind Return to Castle Wolfenstein. The Xbox version is being developed by Vicarious Visions. TRINITY is expected to ship in 2004

Toronto-based Groove Games, a global publisher of interactive entertainment software, announced today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the signing of a game development deal with Brainbox Games. Also based in Toronto, Brainbox Games, a wholly owned subsidiary of Digital Extremes, will create two games under the agreement with the first title for the PC already in development.

Rise of Nations combines the epic scope of traditional turn-based strategy games with the fast-paced action of RTS games. The game allows players to create new cities, improve their city infrastructure and expand national borders. Players have the option to win through military might using everything from slingshots to cannons to stealth bombers, corner the market on key commodities, and wheel and deal with a wide variety of Nations. In the trial version, gamers can choose between four of the 18 nations featured in the retail version of Rise of Nations. Logitech today announced the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and Logitech Attack 3 joysticks for PC and Mac. Sony Online Entertainment announced today that it is adding incentives to EverQuest II, the parallel online universe to the hugely successful gaming phenomenon EverQuest, to reward current EverQuest players for the time they have invested enjoying the original title. The incentives will include exclusive crossover quest zones in each game that will be accessible only by subscribers of both games, allowing characters in EverQuest and EverQuest II to gain access to hidden treasures, an EverQuest II in-game reward for loyal fans, and additional features to be disclosed over the coming months for ongoing EverQuest and EverQuest II players. EverQuest II is expected to ship to U.S. and Canadian retail stores this winter.

SEGA today announced that it will deliver its top-selling franchise of all time -- Sonic The Hedgehog -- to the largest audience of gamers worldwide, launching four new Sonic The Hedgehog games on all next-generation console and handheld platforms this fiscal year. The highly-anticipated "Sonic Heroes," an all-new title in the Sonic The Hedgehog series, will debut on the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, Nintendo GameCube and the Xbox video game system from Microsoft. Additionally, building off the success of the Sonic franchise on Nintendo GameCube, SEGA will release "Sonic Adventure DX Director's Cut" exclusively for Nintendo GameCube.
