Microsoft Game Studios today announced that "NFL Fever 2004" has gone gold and has been released to manufacturing. "NFL Fever 2004" is scheduled to hit store shelves on August 28 in North America for an estimated retail price of $49.99 (U.S.), exclusively for Xbox. Coinciding with this release is the launch of XSNsports.com, which will switch on at 12:01 a.m. that same day. Through XSNsports.com and Xbox Live, "NFL Fever 2004" players can immediately create leagues, organize tournaments, track stats, communicate with other players and more.

Blizzard Entertainment announced today that Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne has surpassed 1 million units sold worldwide, according to EDI sell-through, internal company estimates, and reports from key retail accounts around the world. Following in the tradition of previous Blizzard games, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne is now the eighth Blizzard product to sell 1 million copies and also to reach #1 in U.S. sales. The game, which began shipping on July 1, is topping PC sales charts in North America, Europe, and Asia.

CDV has released some new screens from their upcoming RTS game Cossacks II. All other screenshots to date don't show the brilliant new interface and Cossacks buffs will immediately recognize the changes. Everything has been cleaned up, and there are drastically fewer icons than before. The guys at GSC Game World were able to minimize the icons and simplify the controls.
