The endless repackaging of decades-old classic games has been one of the least admirable developments in the modern era of gaming, and the Namco Museum series has led the charge with iterations for nearly every major system released since the original PlayStation. Luckily, Namco Bandai has sensed the series’ dwindling necessity and will be shaking things up a bit with Namco Museum Remix for the Wii.

Namco Museum Remix will pack a total of 14 games within its digital confines, but just nine of those will be pixel-perfect ports

'Rock Band' (PS3/X360) Gets Metallica Tracks, Weekly Downloadable Content

Harmonix, MTV Games, and rock icons Metallica announced a deal that will see key tracks from the thrashers' catalog available as digitally-distributed game levels for Rock Band, with "Enter Sandman" shipping with the game this holiday season. The Who's "Who's Next" will be the first album available for owners to purchase, with new content planned every week following launch.

Microsoft got to kick off the festivities of the new, slimmer, slightly more disorganized E3. While there were no bombshells, the presentation was slick and aggressive. Journalists got to see new trailers, game demos, and some new information about release dates. Microsoft seems to be repositioning for a battle with Nintendo's red-hot Wii system, now that Sony's all but taken itself out of the race. This means a sudden change of emphasis onto appealing outside of the traditional gaming audience with which Microsoft's always done well.
