While Ubisoft made its intentions clear about wanting to enter into film production and book publishing, it's upcoming Prince of Persia movie is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, directed by Mike Newell (apparently Michael Bay is no longer involved) and to be distributed by Disney. Set to start filming this July, in Morocco, the lead role for Prince of Persia has been cast, Orlando Bloom, know for his role as Lord of the Rings' Legolas, who has been chosen over High School Musical's Zac Efron.

Disney Interactive Studios announced an agreement to acquire Chinese independent developer Gamestar. With locations in Shanghai and Wuhan, Gamestar was founded in 2002 and has collaborated on several titles with international partners.

Set in an future-fantasy world, Demigod is a team-based action/RPG/RTS hybrid game that casts you as a hero waging war to obtain a position within the pantheon of gods. Stardock will distribute Demigod through retail as well as its new Impulse digital delivery system, with no copy protection, but unfortunately has been delayed from its fall 2008 date to Feb. 2009.
