SEGA's Universe at War: Earth Assault, developed by Petroglyph, is a combat-intensive RTS game enlisting players in an epic struggle to prevent total alien domination of planet Earth. Valve announced that Universe at War will be available through Steam the same day as retail, Dec. 5, 2007.

Crytek has barely released one of the most anticipated FPSes of the year, Crysis, and it is already talking about sequels. In a recent IRC chat logged by inCrysis, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli revealed that there are two more installments in the franchises due to be released, with the third title to have a deliberate ending. German GameStar has some additional info from Crytek's Steven Bender, claiming that Crysis 2 will have numerous textural improvements (especially facial textures) and 3D animations, with near photo-realistic movie quality.

THQ announced that Edward Zinser, its executive vice president and chief financial officer, has resigned, effective immediately. The company has appointed Rasmus van der Colff, vice president and controller, as interim chief financial officer and has initiated a search for a permanent replacement for Zinser.
