In an on-camera interview with Swedish GameReactor, Gearbox's Randy Pitchfork revealed that Aliens is making great progress and is currently scheduled for next-gen "platforms" in 2009. The focus of the game will be on the colonial marines battling the acid-spewing aliens. Talks with Aliens RPG developer Obsidian have taken place, but both titles have since gone in different directions. Gearbox has also met with Hollywood director Michael Mann to talk about Heat (starring Al Pacino & Robert de Niro), and while work on that project has yet to start, both parties are very interested in proceeding.

Obsidian is working on a Neverwinter Nights 2 expansion pack Mask of The Betrayer featuring a new campaign set in the Forgotten Realms, as well as new monsters, weapons, powers and plenty of quests.
