'Earthfall' (ALL) Free DLC Updates Melee Sound, Adds Weapon And Skins, Increased Level Cap

by Rainier on Dec. 6, 2018 @ 10:57 a.m. PST

Earthfall is a 4-player co-op shooter where a ragtag bunch of survivors band together to fight back against an alien invasion in the year 2032.

The end of the world is here! Emerging from the devastation of a global meteor strike, aliens swarm the landscape and ravage the planet. Everyday people must stand together and fight back with a wide variety of weapons, supplies, and defenses as they battle through the towns and wilderness of the Pacific Northwest.

Inspired by classic shooters like Left for Dead, Earthfall players employ team-based tactics to fortify holdouts and complete objectives under unrelenting attacks from alien hordes. Utilizing a wide variety of weapons and supplies like barricades, turrets, 3D printers, players must use team-based tactics and defenses while exploring the towns and wildernesses of the Pacific Northwest.

Holospark has launched the latest free update for Earthfall, available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC (Steam).

The update introduces the devastating new ValkBait grenade, a host of new skins, an extension of the player progression system with levels 51 through 65 and updated audio design for melee weapons.

Led by Oscar-nominee Alan Rankin, renowned Hollywood sound studio Formosa Group was brought on by Holospark earlier this year to completely revamp Earthfall’s sound design. Players were first able to hear the improvements in October’s Invasion Update, which updated the audio of the game’s ballistic weapons. In this update, players will hear improved and realistic audio for the game’s melee weapons.

“Following on the success of Earthfall: Invasion, our latest update expands on many of Earthfall’s most requested features,” said Russell Williams, CEO of Holospark. “We’re adding new progression levels and a host of new items to unlock. Not to mention, thanks to the amazing work of Formosa Group, smacking aliens around the head has never sounded better!”

Each of the new skins and weapon charms listed below can be unlocked by hitting the new player progression levels:

  • New Character Skin: Spacesuit
  • New Character Skin: Mixer
  • New Weapons Skin: Glintec – Blue
