'Battlefield 6' Gets Game Of The Year Edition With Ultimate Shortcut Kit Boost, Rolls Out Season 5

by Rainier on Oct. 13, 2026 @ 2:05 p.m. PDT

Battlefield 6 is the next installment in the long-running Battlefield franchise, bringing a new all-out warfare experience.

In Battlefield 6, the series’ incredible blend of visceral combat, epic warfare, and player freedom returns. Blow through walls and bring down buildings for a tactical advantage or take to the skies in white-knuckle dogfights. Take part in a war filled with tanks, fighter jets, and sweeping combat at a grand scale but remember: the deadliest weapon is your squad.

Witness the vicious path of destruction carved by Pax Armata, the world’s leading private military company. PAX pursues the destruction of NATO and its allies, stopping at nothing to uphold their motto: “Our Protection, Your Peace.” Fight in high-intensity infantry combat. Demolish your environment for a strategic advantage. In a war of tanks, fighter jets, and massive combat arsenals, your squad is the deadliest weapon.

The year is 2027. The world is on the edge of chaos. After a high-profile assassination shocks the world, major European countries have left NATO, while the US and its allies grapple with the fallout. A massive private military corporation unafraid to cross lines, with deep pockets and the latest tech, looks to fill the power vacuum. This army is PAX ARMATA. What’s left of NATO is in tatters, wounded and battered. This is the world of Battlefield 6.

Battlefield 6 introduces a host of new features, including the all-new Kinesthetic Combat System, which brings enhancements to movement and gunplay. This gives players an unprecedented level of mobility, offering new tactical options such as Drag and Revive to pull teammates out of danger and back from the brink, and mounting weapons on walls to reduce recoil.

The iconic class system returns better than ever, with Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer, empowering players to define their role on the battlefield. The four roles have been enhanced, designed to empower players to push their team towards victory, each with class-specific gadgets, signature weapons and dedicated training. Destruction also returns, but enhanced to offer an unparalleled level of freedom, letting players transform the combat zone, to create new paths, flank enemies and dominate the battle.

Lock & load for the ultimate all-out warfare experience.

Season 5 of Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC kicks off today with the launch of Phase 1 (Siege of Las Vegas), which introduces two new maps (Vegas Strip and Area 51), an exhilarating fast-paced take on Battle Royale, plus the imminent arrival of a Dead Space limited time scenario.

The first of the two new maps brings chaos to the strip, transforming this iconic spot to an enthralling battleground, while the second map takes players beyond the lights of the neon city to the perimeter of the clandestine Area 51.

Phase 1 also includes an all-new way to enjoy REDSEC with Rapid Royale: an intense, compact take on Battlefield’s Battle Royale, with faster rounds and a smaller population of players. In Rapid Royale, the goal remains the same: be the last squad standing. Taking down enemies will give you redeploy tokens that can bring you back into the game, however, as the match progresses, the number of kills needed to earn these tokens increases.

And from October 20th through November 7th, a limited-time scenario will unfold that will be very familiar to fans of Dead Space. This special event is a celebration of everything Dead Space and includes environmental spaces inspired by the 2023 remake, as well as unique cosmetics for players to unlock.
