In a story of corruption and misplaced trust, Hitman: Absolution sees Agent 47, the original assassin, now hunted by the Agency he once served. Using his trademarks of stealth, distraction and disguise, 47 must strike back, leaving no trace other than a trail of bodies in his wake…
Hitman: Absolution’s 20 missions encourage players to experiment with the environment and engineer opportunities to take out targets. With numerous ways to overcome each challenge, Absolution’s gameplay rewards creative thinking and lethal flair. And, with high scores to beat in the pursuit of better mission ratings, 47’s latest outing offers players huge replayability as they seek the perfect hit.

Complete Control
To be the world’s greatest assassin requires a steady hand. That’s why Hitman: Absolution - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition utilises the new capabilities of the Joy-Con 2.
Playing with a Joy-Con 2 in each hand, you’ll get the left-stick move, right-stick aim experience that you’d normally expect. Place one on a surface in front of you, however, and you’ll get precision mouse aim, whether lining up the perfect shot from the shadows, or running and gunning in the heat of the moment.
Swap between mouse and stick dynamically with the wave of a hand, and stay in complete control, no matter how tricky things get.
Smoother, Better, Faster, Shinier
No, we’re not talking about Agent 47’s head.
With the Nintendo Switch 2’s improved hardware, you can expect a number of improvements over the existing Nintendo Switch edition.
One of the most notable improvements is in output resolution, in both docked and handheld modes. These increases result in clearer, more detailed scenes, whether playing on the big screen or on the move.
Docked Resolution Handheld Resolution Nintendo Switch 1 1080p 720p Nintendo Switch 2 1620p 1080p The more powerful hardware also allows for increased framerates of up to 60FPS in handheld mode.
A number of changes, originally made to ensure greater performance on the Nintendo Switch 1 edition, have been reversed:
- Dynamic shadows return
- As do clothing and cloth animations
- Distant crowd animations are also back
- Alongside these improvements, a variety of visual effects have been introduced or strengthened, including:
- Enabled Screen Space Ambient Occlusion: Creates realistic environmental shadows for corners and tight spaces
- Increased Mirror Visual Resolution: Enhances those moments of self-reflection
- Increased Level of Detail: Renders more detailed objects in the distance
- Increased Shadow Quality: Adds detail to in-game lighting effects
- Increased Depth of Field Quality: Sharpens nearby objects and cinematic visuals
- Increased Texture Filtering: Smooths 2D textures applied to 3D objects
Hitman: Absolution is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22, 2026 at $29.99 / £19.99 / €24.99.
