A few days ago reports surfaced that EA's The Lord of the Rings: The White Council, an RPG project featuring an original storyline derived from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings novels, got cancelled. While there has been no official comment, further confirmation comes from another anonymous EA source claiming executive producer Steve Gray is no longer with the company, and that the project was scrubbed due to management issues and lack of sufficient development progress.

This results in Real Time Worlds' open ended action to not be publicly sold or advertised, not sold to minors and can only happen in person, no online ordering. Germany's USK has strict rules on violence in games, especially in light of the recent fatal high school shooting.
