It's time to swing into action as legendary explorer Pitfall Harry in Activision, Inc.'s Pitfall: The Lost Expedition, the latest installment in the company's flagship Pitfall franchise. Gamers will use Harry's wit, athleticism and a knapsack of adventure gear to conquer evil foes in more than 50 obstacle-filled levels set in the lush jungles, dark caverns, and ancient Incan ruins of the South American jungle. Pitfall: The Lost Expedition has been rated "E" (Everyone) by the ESRB and is available in North American retail stores for the PlayStation2, Xbox, and GameCube for a suggested retail price of $39.99 and on the Game Boy Advance for $29.99.

Funcom was recently awarded a grant from the Norwegian Film Fund to partially finance the development of Dreamfall, the long-awaited follow-up to The Longest Journey. The Norwegian government has, for the first time, actively endorsed game development, marking a welcome shift in the cultural acceptance of computer games as a medium comparable to film and television.

Conan is a 3rd person action game, with few elements of RPG and adventure. The game is divided into chapters, each chapter with different environments and creatures. Each chapter contains several levels. The game is very dependant on the player's stealth ability. The animals are far from defenseless, and therein lay's the challenge! The hunter is often the hunted and lack of caution will lead you to a quick end. Before you know it a tiger has you in its claws, or an elephant is using you as a doormat. The animals in Poacher are very dangerous, and the player is in constant peril. Small note folks, Tigers like to attack from behind, and you'll never see it coming....

BBC Multimedia, BBC Worldwide's software publishing business, is set to take the BAFTA-award winning drama Spooks to PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC. It's the first time a BBC drama has been developed into a computer game. The multi-format title, developed by BBC Multimedia's in-house studio, Gamezlab, will be launched in Autumn 2004, and feature all the main characters from the TV series.

'Shadow Tower: Abyss' (PS2) Cancelled

Agetec's Mark 'Duhrin' Johnson revealed on the official Agetec forum that From Software's upcoming horror/FPS "Shadow Tower: Abyss" has been rejected by SCEA's (Sony Computer Entertainment America) Quality Control department and therefor is now cancelled. According to Johnson, reason for the thumbs down was the poor graphics and the fact that there was no market for this type of game in North America. Metro3D might still release 'Shadow Tower: Abyss' in Europe. If you want to read more about it then head on over to Agetec's forum.
